On Monday, the Shiloh School of Prophets officially came to an end. Around 450 people from out of town attended, along with several hundred from Shiloh. During the week of the School of Prophets, we had nine services, many events with the children and young adults, and many hours of fellowship. The week was capped off with a amazing fireworks display and celebration of the birth of the United States of America.
Gary Hargrave spoke in every service, bringing powerful messages on a range of topics, including the miracle of provision, the necessity of opening up our hearts to truly receive the love of the Lord, the importance of prayer for our nation, and how God’s Word and direction for our lives contains within it the force that changes us.
Dani and Debbie Oliveira oversaw the Young Adult School of Prophets (ages 12-18) which ran during the School of Prophets conference. They talked with them about the importance of consistently reading the Bible and living by the Word of God in our daily lives and relationships. The theme statement for the time was “A Company of Door Openers” and the session included teaching about what it means to really live your life for God. A high point of the young adult session was a teaching on the foundations of our salvation through Jesus Christ. Many of the young people came forward to commit their lives anew to Jesus. For some it was a first-time experience. The young people also participated in the work of making the School of Prophets conference run smoothly and had a fun filled day-long field trip to a nearby waterpark!
The theme for this year’s Joshua Generation program (ages 0-12) was “Our Goal is to Speak the Word.” As an expression of this, the kids participated in the prophecy that started off every service. They spoke simple, but powerful statement, such as “The worship in the service will be the best ever,” and “The Lord loves me!” During the week, they had a barbeque, a tour of Marilyn Farms complete with a petting zoo, a time of swimming in the Shiloh lake, and had a frog-jumping contest. Each day included a time of foundational teaching by some of the many ministries who were present at the School of Prophets conference.
This was an amazing time for everyone, and Phyllis and I thank the Lord that we, along with everyone in Shiloh, can be a part of preparing a place for the Lord to meet the hearts of many people. It is our privilege, and we are already looking forward to next summer!
